Aethionema pulchellum

is a fully hardy perennial evergreen alpine with pink flowers in early Summer and late Spring. It grows well in direct sun, and prefers low levels of water. The flowers are arranged in a raceme inflorescence. It has high drought tolerance. It looks best in Spring and Summer.

Soil

Aethionema pulchellum grows in soils ranging from a pH of 7 (neutral ranges from 6.6 to 7.5) to 9 (very alkaline ranges from 8.6 to 9). It is adapted to chalk, sand, sandy clay, sandy clay loam and sandy loam soils.
