A very thick hairy leaved plant

Any ideas?

This looks like Verbascum bombyciferum. You will certainly know when it starts to flower!!

Hmmmm, not sure you're right this time Vincent! 

I've taken photos of Verbascum bombyciferum but haven't had a chance to upload them yet.

Take a look at this photo on this site. You'll see that the leaves are bigger, thinner and not so hairy. I took the photo in one of the glass houses in the Botanic Gardens at the weekend but all the labels had been swapped around.

Wow! Very impressive, looks like you got it this time. I looked all over the internet for a 'thick hairy leaved plant' and of course I kept coming up with this forum post!

Ha ha, that happens.

I did a google search Hedera helix 'Arborea Variegata' and the only photos to show were ones taken of the plant here in Kinsealy by one of the students. I am still not sure what it's proper name is, even after posting it on UBC and Dave's Garden. Ce  la vie.
