I've been searching everywhere on the internet for resources for identifying a couple of the houseplants that my mother gave me, and I've had absolutely no luck so far. So here are some pictures, and perhaps someone around here could help me out.
Plant # 1:
This one's in about a 12" wide pot that's a little more than a foot deep, to give some idea of scale.
Plant # 2:
This one's a vine, and very hardy at that. It doesn't seem to matter how frequently or infrequently I water it, it's always looking pretty happy. They both get about medium light exposure where they are in my house, and seem pretty okay with it. I'd love to know more about both of them so that I can tend to their needs more efficiently. Thanks!
Feel free to tell your friends and it would be great if you uploaded the photos.
In general both require temperatures above 50F (10°c), light shade, occassional spraying (because they like humidity), and the soil should not be allowed to dry out completely. A little house plant fertilizer should be given every two weeks when the plants are growing. So basically if you give them sub-tropical conditions they'll thrive ;-)
